Upgraded to Onkyo 807 from a 15 year-old Yamaha with a lot of oomph but little inside the way of existing sound processing and of course no HDMI.

Did a massive amount of study in advance, but inside finish made the decision that the Onkyo 807 gave me every little thing I will need for now and well into the future.

One of the fullest and most immersive soundstages I've ever heard, a comparatively intuitive interface, auto firmware updates and PC audio streaming through its Ethernet port, much more setup and configuration possibilities than I knew existed, and a full half-dozen (!) HDMI inputs.

And the Onkyo 807 gives me lots of power sitting in reserve for those moments in a film which are crafted to make you jump out of your chair. Never boomy or tinny or lacking, the unit merely sounds "fluid."

The Onkyo 807 has loads of power, incredibly low distortion, flexibility, and is quite user friendly. Not having purchased something inside the better portion of a decade, I was concerned/ intimidated on the thought of attempting to set the receiver up and get all the connections appropriate. I could not have been extra pleasantly surprised in the ease with which this was accomplished.
